I Ludicrus

Amiga 1989

After drinking too much at the bar and making a fool of himself, arena cleaner Ludicrus discovers he has been 'promoted' to gladiator. To become a free man again, he must defeat three opponents: the great Germanic warrior Herr Liss, the femme fatale Bon d'Age and the masked gladiator Bud Vyzr. Ludricrus must endure five rounds against each of his opponents or face a lion. If the lion wins, it's game over. The game is a one-on-one fight in which Ludicrus is armed with a short knife. Through a combination of button presses and joystick pulls, Ludicrus can back up, jump, take cover and slash with his knife. Horizontal scrolling is limited, as in Streetfighter II. Since there are no energy bars, you have to keep a mental tally of how much damage you've taken and given. The graphics are cartoonish with a touch of Asterix.
