Droids
An Environmental Defense computer, or EDWARD for short, is in red alert mode after an electrical storm damaged the unmanned Arachnid warship it was controlling. EDWARD will now destroy anything that comes within range, the problem is that the planet Venus is less than 24 hours away and will be completely destroyed unless EDWARD shuts down. You have been given the mission to move around the ship, deck by deck to shut down each one but this can only be accomplished by destroying a certain amount of Droids moving around the ship. The game is viewed from the side with the screen split into two of the different levels of each deck that you have to explore in search of Droids using conveyor belts to move up or down a level. There are doors that take you to a new level of a deck and conveyors that take you to a new deck. Each droid is on high alert for any intruder, so you must shoot them a number of times while avoiding being shot at or touching the Droids. Each time you are hit by a droid or shot at, you will lose a portion of your energy meter and, if it runs out, it's game over.
Scattered throughout the ship are computer terminals that you can access that give you various options for closing each deck. You can see a map of the entire ship and its decks that takes you to a map of the levels of the deck you are on. You can play a small arcade game to fill you up with energy in which you have to try to get the cursor from the top to the bottom of a box through the gaps in the bars that move left or right. If you touch a bar, you lose one life out of five and if all lives run out, you can't use all the terminals on the deck to gain energy. The last option is the actual deck lock which can only be accessed when enough Droids have been destroyed. It is a mastermind type game where you have five rows of five columns and you have to light the circles in the correct pattern. Once you try the first row, the computer tells you how many are correct, but you lose energy for each time you get it wrong. Guess the pattern correctly and you can move on to the next deck but you can access the game again when you have had five correct guesses.
