AWS Pro Moves Soccer

Genesis 1993
If anyone is wondering what the AWS stands for in this title, it's an acronym for Asciiware World Sports. Now, with that out of the way, this is a soccer game with training, exhibition and tournament modes. Training mode allows players to practice without the opposing team on the field. Exhibition is the basic mode of one team against another during a match. Tournament mode is divided into two different modes: 8 Nations and World Cup. 8 Nations is a shorter version of the World Cup tournament mode, as it involves only 8 teams instead of the 32 teams in the World Cup mode. The player can choose to play as one of these 32 international teams or can choose to create his own team that has its own jersey, stripe and pant colors. The game has options that allow the player to choose between a light or strong wind, a dry, soggy or snowy field, and to enable or disable fouls.

SpellCraft: Aspects of Valor

DOS 1992
The first and only product of Asciiware, a small company formed by the formidable team of former EA veterans Joe Ybarra (Starflight) and Karl Buiter (Sentinel Worlds), Spellcraft is, like these designers' masterpieces, difficult to pigeonhole. It's a cross-genre game that mixes RPG spellcasting elements with adventure, strategy, and a heavy dose of action in your quest to thwart evil wizards. It's a good game, though some of the clues are obscure and the awkward action interface will make your fingers tired from clicking so much.
