Koło Fortuny
Koło Fortuny is a trivia based Commodore 64 game that was released in 1994. Developed by Leopold Zajączkowski, Koło Fortuny saw players pitted against each other to answer various multi-choice questions in a bid to rack up as many points as possible. The board game show-style title offered an interesting combination of luck and knowledge-based challenges, with players having ability to spin the wheel and guess the correct answer to a question in order to maximize their earnings.
Each round plays out in a familiar fashion, with each contestant being shown a wheel of fortune. Half of the wheel is occupied by point values ranging from 50 to 2000 points and the other half consists of a variety of colors, such as blue, yellow, green, red and orange. When it’s their turn, the contestant must spin the wheel and collect the corresponding point value it lands on. The next step is to answer the questions which are grouped into various topics, such as history, geography, science, pop culture and sports.
A unique feature of Koło Fortuny is the "question shot" – a chance for the players to take a special move at the board which gives them the opportunity to answer a harder question or compete in a mini-game for a big prize. The Mini-Games come in various flavors from table soccer to solving a maze or catching a criminal. Players can also compete in a bonus round at the end of each game, where they can wager their points to either increase or decrease their scores.
The presentation of Koło Fortuny is fairly straightforward, with the game being colorful and featuring digitized speech for characters as well as timer sound effects.
