In the future, advanced genetic studies opened up unprecedented possibilities for mankind. After years of research, it was finally possible to create artificial humans with animal traits, the so-called deminoids. The player assumes the role of the head of a detective agency called Armist; two pretty female deminoids (with rabbit and cat ears) are his trusted companions. Investigating a murder in a large deminoid-producing company, the hero will end up discovering the truth about this scientific achievement and all its implications. . .
Armist is a Japanese-style adventure game, with fixed screens as locations and menu-driven command input. Normally, the player has to exhaust all options at each location to advance the plot. Commands mainly consist of examining objects in the rooms and sharing opinions with the two companions. Conveniently, commands that no longer lead to a new text message are removed from the menu, so that the player can concentrate on the others.
