Arctic Moves

DOS 1995
Arctic Moves is a good platformer that puts you in the role of a futuristic commando sent to infiltrate terrorist bases in the Arctic. While the gameplay doesn't differ from a million other platformers, the Arctic settings, tough enemies, and cool futuristic weapons and power-ups make Arctic Moves stand out from the crowd. The game is in Spanish, but hey, it's an action game where you're talking mostly guns and bullets:) For a more plot-oriented and innovative Dinamic game, check out Narco Police, also on this site.

Euro League Football

Windows 1999
It's a soccer manager simulation game in which you analyze all aspects of your team's campaign, including the Premier League, Third Division and UEFA Cup, and use the statistics to your advantage. Speaking of teams, you can choose from almost any club in Europe, each with accurately modeled statistics (1999-2000) and all local tournaments (such as the Spanish Super Cup). Matches can be viewed not only as scores, but also as ball-by-ball highlights (without commentary), or as playable matches with simple arcade pass/shot/long ball controls for FIFA-style action. It also offers multiplayer tournaments for up to 8 players and a difficulty setting for beginners.

Eurotour Cycling

Windows 2001
Eurotour Cycling arrived on Windows in 2001 with the promise of steering a peloton through recognizable European roads. Rather than chasing the photorealism later racers would offer, it focused on readable action: riders, road surface, and stage layout all stayed clear enough for planning a move. The game treats cycling like a contest of timing, positioning, and endurance, so even when the scenery blurs, your decisions remain the main storyline. It feels brisk, accessible, and slightly old school in its tone. On the bike, input is straightforward: you accelerate, brake, and shift effort levels while the camera keeps the road ahead visible. Drafting becomes crucial as speeds rise, since slipping behind another rider can conserve stamina. Curves and climbs demand patience, with gradients influencing gear choice and breathing. Weather and track conditions subtly change handling, forcing you to react rather than simply grind forward. Sprinters also benefit from clean lanes, so holding a safe line in the kilometers matters. Most play revolves around completing stages in a tour-style campaign. You can choose events, meet team rivals, and chase objectives such as stage wins or better overall placement. Between races, the structure encourages small strategic habits, like managing fatigue and selecting when to launch an attack. Multi-rider dynamics are handled through a mix of AI scripting and your own micro-decisions, so breakaways may stick or dissolve depending on your pacing discipline. Even a modest lead can evaporate if you ignore recovery. Visually, the game uses lightweight models and simple road textures, delivering motion that feels like speed rather than spectacle. Menus are utilitarian, while the race HUD highlights ranking, time gaps, and remaining stamina at a glance. Audio support follows the same practical philosophy, with rhythmic bike sounds and crowd noise that rises during decisive moments. Performance on early PCs is generally smooth, though the low-detail look shows its age quickly. The lack of clutter helps you concentrate on tactics. For cyclists who enjoy strategy games, Eurotour Cycling offers an entry point, especially when you like racing against time gaps instead of chasing flashy tricks. It lacks some modern depth found in later simulations, including more nuanced rider roles and advanced physics. Yet it remains memorable as a snapshot of early 2000s PC sports design, where readability mattered and control schemes were direct. If you can tolerate dated presentation, you can learn racecraft and savor the rhythm of a stage finish.
