The Kingdom of Syree II: Black Magic
The Kingdom of Syree II: Black Magic is the sequel to the role-playing game The Kingdom of Syree. Like its predecessor, it bears a strong resemblance to the earlier titles in the Ultima series.
In Black Magic, the player retakes the role of the Lord Champion of Syree, who, after defeating the evil wizard in the first game, returns to the life of a simple farmer. However, this peaceful existence is interrupted when news arrives that the Guardian of Power has passed away. The Guardian is a person responsible for all the mystical powers of the kingdom. When a Guardian dies, the power is immediately transferred to a newborn child. This child must be raised as a good person so that the magical powers are available to all, but if the Dark Forces find the child first, the balance of magical power will be broken. So the Lord Champion prepares for another journey to save the kingdom.
Unlike the first game, The Kingdom of Syree II is shareware and requests player registration. However, the unregistered version has no limitations, except for the delay when loading with the message urging the user to register. There is an optional sound pack that allows Sound Blaster sound effects and music to be used instead of the sounds from the PC speakers.
The Kingdom of Syree III: The Depths of Hell
The Depths of Hell, the third chapter of the saga The Kingdom of Syree, continues the adventures of the Lord Champion of Syree, who, with the discovery of a new Guardian of Power in Black Magic and the restoration of order in his kingdom, decides to travel the world. The brave hero decides to travel the world. However, this journey is soon interrupted by an emissary of King Telbor, who demands the Lord Champion's immediate return to Syree.
'Hell's Bottom' has similar graphics and gameplay to its predecessor, 'Black Magic'. It was also distributed as shareware, with certain quests locked in the unregistered version; users who registered Black Magic can use the same code to unlock the third game. Registration also allows the use of a character editor, a sort of cheat program that allows players to change their stats, items, and the amount of gold available to them. As with Black Magic, an optional sound pack allows the addition of Sound Blaster effects and music.
