Lethal Tender
Lethal Tender is a fun, if amateurish, first-person shooter from Pie in the Sky, creator of the shareware classic Corncob 3D.
In this Rambo-inspired game, you play the burly hero Nick Hunter, who, in the words of MobyGames, '. . . . must thwart the evil Thorne Devereaux's plan to coat U. S. currency with a time-delayed explosive by infiltrating his base and mowing down hordes of identical nameless guards'. Lethal Tender plays much like Wolfenstein 3D and FPSs in general. Shoot guards, collect colored keys to open doors, pick up more powerful weapons. . you know what to do. The game distinguishes itself from other shareware FPSs by the addition of an inventory screen, inventive level design, and a semblance of plot development that is a step above Wolf 3D (a small step, though). It's probably one of the best shareware FPS games out there, though it lacks the polish to compete with commercial games. If you're an FPS fan who can put up with below-average graphics and banal enemies, give it a shot. For a much better effort, play the semi-sequel Terminal Terror instead.
