Ghost Encounters

Atari 8-bit fans were in for a treat when Ghost Encounters was released in 1982. Developed by a relatively unknown game developer, it became one of the most popular titles for the system. The game's core concept was simple, but its execution was top-notch. In Ghost Encounters, players took on the role of a ghost hunter, tasked with exploring a haunted mansion in search of four hidden keys. As players ventured deeper into the mansion, they were confronted with various obstacles, such as ghastly apparitions, vengeful spirits, and booby traps. To progress, players had to master the timing of their movements, as well as their use of special items, such as flashlights and crucifixes. In addition to its unique gameplay, Ghost Encounters also featured impressive visuals. The game's detailed sprites and haunting soundtrack lent an eerie atmosphere to the experience. Furthermore, the game's level design was complex and challenging, providing hours of entertainment. Overall, Ghost Encounters was a great success, and it continues to be a fan-favorite to this day. Its clever design, eerie atmosphere, and challenging gameplay have made it a classic for Atari 8-bit owners. If you're a fan of horror games, then you owe it to yourself to check out Ghost Encounters.

Journey to the Planets

In Journey to the Planets, you play an astronaut who must find a way to return to his planet. To do this, you have to collect various treasures from several unexplored worlds. Sometimes you will have to shoot to reach a specific treasure; other times, you will have to solve a series of puzzles to reach your goal. Once you recover all the treasures, you must pilot your starship through uncharted space with a limited amount of fuel and find your home planet. The 1983 cartridge version features a different soundtrack and smooths out some of the more difficult puzzles.
