Lancelot
Lancelot, an Atari 8-bit video game, made its release in 1996. Much to the delight of game enthusiasts, the Carebears-inspired title provided an exciting gaming experience, emphasizing combat and other challenges.
Players don the persona of Lancelot, the fearless warrior. The goal is to travel over the five castles of ancient Avalon and conquer them. Doing so requires besting several adversary knights and outsmarting a diverse group of monsters, from fire-breathing dragons to big-biled ogres. In addition to being able to wage war with a sonic sword and a virulent whip, Lancelot is also presented with various puzzles which need to be solved in order to achieve victory.
Lancelot's imagery is credited to Philip Ward, a well-known vide-game artist, who combined captivating animation and flickering fire effects. As befitting a battle-based video endeavor, Lancelot's sound department bolsters its strong story with background music and other audio effects. Finally, its controls areochronous and precise giving the player a sense of control a sense of confidence no matter the serverity of the fight.
To help him progress, Lancelot can heal wounds and gain attributes. Throughout his journey, Lancelot acquires golden coins which can be used to purchase brighter armor, health rejuvenation and other useful upgrades.
