Another adware game from the mid-1990s German marketing hive The Art Department, Geheimprojekt DMSO ('Secret DMSO Project') features the generic private detective, the generic adventure scenario and a bunch of painkiller ointments, all cleverly tied together in the game's cover illustration.
DMSO is short for Dimethyl-Sulphoxide, the main ingredient in Merckle Pharma's Dolobene(TM) and Rheumabene(TM) ointments, and thus a likely target for international criminals. In the role of detective Jack Bene, you travel through Europe in search of the formula, solving simple puzzles and using a fair amount of ointments along the way.
Geheimprojekt DMSO is a free program, published only in German and in Germany, and presents the exact ingredients of 100 g Dolobene(TM) and 100 g Rheumabene(TM) on no less than three pages of the manual.
