Dare to Dream is a point and click first-person adventure game that was released in three episodes. The protagonist is Tyler E. Norris, a ten-year-old boy who is trapped in his dreams. Pieces of imagination and memory blend together, and beneath his happy thoughts looms an evil darkness.
The game is based on puzzles using items in place, and is distinguished by its surreal environments. The play area is divided into two sections. The upper part of the screen displays an image of the current location and the point-and-click interface. The lower part of the screen presents a status box that displays additional text descriptions of objects, actions, and locations.
In Dare to Dream 3, Tyler must journey into his darkest and most corrupt dreams to defeat Christian and finally break free.

Period. When it first came out, the response in the action newsgroup comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.action was overwhelmingly positive, despite receiving virtually no attention in gaming magazines. Choose your trusty mech and take part in the numerous competitions to win fame and fortune. You can get numerous upgrades for your mech for a price, and the ability to upgrade your own character, RPG-style, is a nice touch. I'm not an action gamer, but this game kept me hooked for hours.
Two thumbs up for this game, a proud inductee into our Hall of Fame.
