The alien hero of 1988's Galactix returns in another adventure, this time at the behest of the King of Galactix. His Alien Highness woke up one day and couldn't find his three magical orbs; the treasured artifacts have been stolen by bandits, and the agitated monarch immediately sends you on a mission to retrieve them. As before, your path will take you through a series of rooms populated by hostiles, whom you'll have to dispatch with your phaser gun to get to the various objects your mission demands. These are manipulated through a menu-driven inventory system, in the usual style of adventure games, which complements the basic platform/arcade action as in the first Galactix.
This time the challenge is somewhat more difficult: it's not enough to return the three orbs: your strict ruler has also decreed that you must eliminate the thieving bandits from the land (along with the traitorous guards), and won't allow you to return to the throne room until you've taken them all out. This is complicated a bit by the fact that they return from the dead when you re-enter a previous room. Also, instead of the infinite reload gun from the previous game, your phaser has limited ammo that you must replenish by finding additional bullets.
