Omni-play Basketball

Two different basketball games are offered in this package, with 3 skill levels and player sets. One faithfully recreates the real game, offering a complete league for 1 or 2 human players, which can be saved to disk. The other is faster paced, with Flow-Control for easier shooting. The shot time limit and match length can be varied, as can the team and court colors. Long distance shots and dunks are available. The game features 9 years of historical team and player statistics.

Omni-Play Horse Racing

In Sport of Kings, up to four human players can manage a successful horse racing stable. Choose which races to enter your horses in and which jockeys to hire for them. Details of the form of each horse and jockey, as well as the conditions, will help you make the right decisions. The races are then shown from a side perspective.

Undoubtedly the best horse racing simulator ever, Sport of Kings (formerly published by Omni-play as Omni-play Horse Racing) was designed by the master of sports simulators, Ed Ringler. As you might expect from his works, the game is loaded with features and excellent gameplay that will hook even those unfamiliar with the sport. The basic objective of the game, of course, is to bet on horse races and try to win as much money as possible. You start by entering your name in the tournament along with friends who want to play. Once you've signed up, you'll see the entry information, which will tell you which horses are running along with their odds of winning, jockey information, past results and race conditions. You can then place your bet, which is not a simple matter of putting your money on the table. Depending on the number of horses in a race, you will be given several betting options. For example, if there are only 5 horses in the race, you will only be able to bet on one horse to win, place or show. Of course, the riskier the bet, the more money you can win. The game is packed with many options and statistics to study. You can view the entire career of any horse or Jockey . . and even review the career of any best in betting! There is even an option to buy a tip from a best who has a good betting record. Once you have placed your bet, you can watch the race, which is displayed in an exciting side screen view, with nice animation of the horses. All race results are saved and can be reviewed at any time. There are graphical interludes that add ambiance to the game. Despite the deluge of options and information, Sport of Kings is easy to get into. It's one of those games that's different every time you play, so you'll never get bored. The game design has stood the test of time, and you'll enjoy it every time you load it up.
