The Dungeons of Grimlor II
The Dungeons of Grimlor II is a single player, shareware, DOS dungeon crawler game.
In the first game, The Dungeons of Grimlor, a dragon had stolen the souls of all the children of Grimlor who lived beneath the city, so Sir Merdimek ventured into the dragons lair, the dungeons beneath the city, to defeat the dragon and his minions, collect the treasure, and free the children.
In this sequel, the dragon is back and, as a lich, a being that is both alive and dead, he is stronger than ever. Sir Merdimek's mission is to find the dragon and destroy the source of its power, killing it forever. To do this, Sir Merdimek must locate the keys that will open the doors to the depths of the dungeons where he will find the Lich's Cross which is the source of the dragon's power.
The dungeons are labyrinthine and filled with traps to avoid, monsters to fight and puzzles to solve. Rocks can be moved to trap creeps and to block walls that shoot arrows. There are some monsters that cannot be killed by Sir Merdimek's arrows, though they are vulnerable to other things, and there are mages that can resurrect the dead. Sir Merdimek can ride on rivers to reach secret rooms and use teleporters that can lead to more hidden treasures.
The full game consists of three levels;Episode 1: ResurrectionEpisode 2: InsurrectionEpisode 3: The Lost SoulsEpisode 1 was released as shareware; the rest were only available in the purchased version.
The game can be saved at any time, although there are only five save slots available.
