Description Rally Driver
Rather than creating a purely arcade game, Five Ways aimed to create a true rally simulation that also has educational value. To do this, a full map of the area is provided, some degree of route planning is required and each road has its own properties. Some have a higher possible speed, some are more prone to flooding when it rains and some are prone to being closed.
You can get information about current conditions (and avoid a 50-second penalty) by stopping at a checkpoint. The hazards presented by the game are unusual: you have to avoid spectators entering the track and stray farm animals, and there is a definite penalty for driving the wrong way down a road. The race consists of three stages, and drivers are eliminated after each of the first 2.
