Reflex

Reflex is a video game in the action genre and published by Players Software originally released in 1988. It is currently playable on Commodore 16, Plus/4.

Inspired by Arkanoid, Reflex is a single-screen game in which you have to eliminate bricks on several screens by bouncing a ball with two paddles. In addition to the difference of playing with two paddles moving in opposite directions, it is played horizontally instead of vertically. In addition to bricks that are removed with a single hit, there are bricks that require multiple hits, bricks that cannot be removed, speed bricks that accelerate the ball, stun ray bricks that fire a laser every five seconds, and blocker bricks that can block the trajectory of the bat.

Some bricks, when removed, leave a star and, when hit, give you a bonus or helpful items such as extra points, a wall behind the bat, a magnetic bat, 3 missiles or an extra life. If the ball goes through any of the bats, you lose one of the three lives. There is also a time limit on each screen and you lose a life if the timer indicator is empty.
