Ring Quest

Ring Quest is a video game in the adventure genre and published by Penguin Software, Inc. originally released in 1985. It is currently playable on Apple II, PC-88.

This is a fantasy text-based adventure game that also has pictures of most of the locations. It contains about 100 locations and 80 illustrations.

The Ring of Chaos has enslaved the noble sorceress, Lisa, and all of space-time is threatened by its destructive influence. As the bearer of the Ring of Order, your mission is to free Lisa before reality is irreversibly altered.

Ring Quest is the nominal sequel to The Quest. Ring Quest returns you to the magical land of Balema, accompanied once again by Gorn, your water-spewing strong arm. Far to the north lies your final objective, the mountain citadel of the sorceress. As if her shield of green lightning wasn't enough, you soon encounter other obstacles, such as trolls, manticores, amorous ogres and greedy seers.

Good mapping is more than rewarded in this adventure, where Lisa can appear at any time to cast a teleport spell, spell the Gorn into confusion, which can be hard to detect, or dry up your water supply.
