Ronde

Ronde is a video game in the strategy genre developed by Atlus Co., Ltd. and published by Atlus Co., Ltd. originally released in 1997. It is currently playable on SEGA Saturn.

Ronde is a game that holds a special place in the hearts of SEGA Saturn fans, as it was one of the last major releases for the console in 1997. Developed by the renowned game studio, Treasure, Ronde is a unique blend of action and strategy that offers players a challenging and immersive experience.

Set in a futuristic world, Ronde tells the story of a group of mercenary pilots known as the Mulian. These pilots are tasked with protecting the human race from an alien threat known as the Starblades. The game's protagonist, Reiji, is the newest member of the Mulian and must prove himself in the heat of battle.

What sets Ronde apart from other games of its time is its unique battle system. Players control a customizable mech, known as a "Rounder," and must strategically maneuver their way through battle. Each rounder has a specific set of weapons and abilities, allowing for various playstyles. The battles are fast-paced and require quick reflexes and strategic thinking to emerge victoriously.

In addition to the thrilling battles, Ronde also offers an intriguing story that unfolds as players progress through the game. The story is told through beautifully rendered cutscenes, bringing the world of Ronde to life. The game also features multiple endings, depending on the player's choices and performance in battle, adding to its replayability.

The game's graphics are impressive for its time and take full advantage of the SEGA Saturn's capabilities. The 3D environments are detailed and vibrant, immersing players in the game's futuristic world. The soundtrack, composed by industry legend Yuzo Koshiro, further enhances the game's atmosphere, with its intense and epic tunes.

Ronde may have been released towards the end of the SEGA Saturn's lifespan, but it still managed to garner positive reviews and a dedicated fan base. Its unique gameplay, engaging story, and stunning visuals were praised by critics and players alike. However, its limited release in North America made it a hidden gem for many players.

Despite its relative obscurity, Ronde remains a beloved game among hardcore SEGA Saturn fans. Its cult following is a testament to the game's quality and lasting impact. It continues to be a sought-after collector's item, with physical copies often selling for high prices.
