Description Rush Hour

Designed by Atari employee Steve Woita, Rush Hour was released in 1983 for the Atari 8-bit family of home computers. It was one of the first games to use the company's new POKEY sound chip.

The player controls a car at the bottom of the screen, trying to exit the left side. The road above is blocked by other cars, which the player must maneuver around. The player can move their car horizontally and vertically, but not diagonally.

There are five different levels in the game, each with its own unique layout. The goal of each level is to reach the exit, while avoiding collision with the other cars. The game gets progressively more difficult as the levels progress.

If the player collides with another car, they will lose a life. The game is over when the player runs out of lives.

Rush Hour was well-received by critics and was a commercial success. It was one of the best-selling games for the Atari 8-bit family, with over 100,000 copies sold.
