Saint & Greavsie is a video game in the strategy genre developed by Core Design Ltd. and published by Grandslam Entertainments Ltd. originally released in 1989. It is currently playable on DOS, Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum.
Released in 1989, Saint & Greavsie was a DOS game that featured two British football commentators, Saint (Ian St. John) and Greavsie (Jimmy Greaves).
The game was a text-based simulation of a football match, with the player taking on the role of either Saint or Greavsie. The player could choose to commentate on either a real-life match or a simulated one.
Saint & Greavsie was one of the first games to feature speech synthesis, with the two commentators' voices being generated by a computer. The game was also notable for its use of humour, with the two commentators often bantering with each other during the commentary.
The game was well received by critics and was a commercial success, selling over 500,000 copies.
