Scapeghost

Scapeghost is a video game in the adventure genre developed by Level 9 Computing, Ltd. and published by Level 9 Computing, Ltd. originally released in 1989. It is currently playable on DOS, Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, BBC Micro, Commodore 64.

You were the successful police officer Alan Chance, until you were killed during a raid against drug dealers, who managed to take a hostage in the process. People assumed you had died as a result of your own mistakes.

Now you have returned as a ghost, with psychic powers instead of physical ones. Starting with your own funeral, you must follow conversations to find clues. One of the first tasks is to find items that enhance your physical abilities. You have the help of other deceased beings, starting with the pub owner, Joe Danby.

Scapeghost was Level 9's latest adventure game, and has the same format as the previous ones, which is a text parser with additional graphics. The puzzles require instructions to be given to other characters. The game is divided into 3 days, each of which can be played independently of the other: November Graveyard, Haunted House and Poltergeist.
