Secrets of the Pyramids

Secrets of the Pyramids is a video game in the educational genre developed by Ednovation, Inc. and published by Mindscape, Inc. originally released in 1994. It is currently playable on Windows 3.x.

Secrets of the Pyramids is an edutainment title that includes 3 modes: a movie, a discovery mode and a game mode. The Movie mode presents a dramatic reconstruction of a series of events that may have taken place in Ancient Egypt. The Discovery mode describes the culture, religion and history of Ancient Egypt.

In the Game mode you will follow Harold Peabody - dreamer, adventurer and optimist - in his search for the hidden tomb of the mythical pharaoh Ankh-Re. After finding a way to open the pyramid's door, the player has to explore it, find useful objects and overcome various obstacles. Stepping on the wrong tile or opening the wrong door can lead to the hero's untimely death. To avoid the traps and decipher the clues, the player has to consult an 'English hieroglyphic translator' found at the beginning of the game.

Secrets of the Pyramids is a short, inventory-based adventure game with a simple interface (with a 'look' and 'use' icon). The player can only save one game at a time (by pressing the S key). The game comes with a soundtrack and some sound effects; comments are displayed in pop-up message windows (no voices).

It is possible that we have multiple downloads available when different versions exist.
