Description Snooker & Billiards
Snooker & Billiards for the Atari 8-bit computers was released in 1981 by Data Age. The game is a conversion of the popular cue sport and was one of the first video games to realistically simulate the sport.
The game features two modes of play, eight-ball and nine-ball. In eight-ball, the player must pocket all of the balls of their assigned group, either solid or striped, and then the eight-ball to win. In nine-ball, the player must pocket the balls in order from one to nine.
The player has a set amount of time to take their shot, and if they take too long, their cue ball is automatically placed in the middle of the table. The player can also adjust the power and spin of their shot.
Snooker & Billiards was well-received by critics and was praised for its realistic gameplay. It is considered one of the best Atari 8-bit games of its time.
