Soldat

Soldat is a video game in the action genre originally released in 2002. It is currently playable on Windows.

Soldat is a side-view action game with simple controls. With certain similarities to Worms, the game combines simplicity of gameplay with on-screen mayhem. There are single-player modes for quick battles, but the game focuses on multiplayer.

The game starts as soon as the player presses the start button. The player's character, who appears at an initial location, can choose up to ten weapons to use; once this is done, he can move around the screen left, right, down (crouching) and up (with jet boots). Using the mouse to aim your weapons, the player's goal is to kill the other characters and get the highest score.

Some weapons aim correctly with a continuous stream of fire (machine guns, miniguns), others are full of power in a single shot (sniper rifle, shotgun) and are slow to reload, or, conversely, load fast but do not contain much power in each individual shot. Some weapons are noticeably affected by gravity. Each player also has a jetpack to help him jump, fall and shoot from the air. First aid kits and special ammo boxes appear in each level as players work to destroy each other's avatars. Successful completion of a level is based on kill count within a specified time limit.
