Space Adventure is a video game in the educational genre developed by Knowledge Adventure, Inc. and published by Knowledge Adventure, Inc. originally released in 1992. It is currently playable on DOS.

Space Adventure is a fun edutainment multimedia title from Knowledge Adventure about astronomy.

Powered by the same engine as the company's first product, Knowledge Adventure, Space Adventure is subdivided into 4 sections: a view of the Earth as seen from space, a toolbar and timeline, a picture display, and a text box. Like previous KA products, Space Adventure is essentially a concise encyclopedia of astronomy and space travel, using clever image and text hyperlinks that lead you to discover new topics. You can also view each topic individually using the Earth window and timeline, but it's much more fun to click on the image text balloons to discover a new related topic.

Another similarity to other KA titles is the good use of multimedia elements. For example, when the image of a new event is displayed, a sound bite of actual conversations recorded during the event is played. The timeline allows you to choose any time between 10 billion BC and 2010 AD and see a sample of what happened or was planned during the chosen year. All the windows are interconnected to show the relevant material for that time. For example, if you move the cursor on the timeline to April 12, 1981, the image shows the liftoff of the space shuttle Columbia; the map is centered on Cape Canaveral, Florida; and the next one describes the main features of the flight. At the same time, a sound clip can be heard playing the Mission Control countdown to liftoff. Thus, for each event, the program gives you the geographic location, an image, the data, a description of the event and a sound memory of the occasion.

Although Space Adventure is more of an introductory-exploratory title than an in-depth database, the range of topics covered is broad and the description concise and informative, thanks to the participation of science fiction legend Isaac Asimov. Kids can learn about the different types of stars, the history of space exploration and even the search for extraterrestrial life, and some intriguing science fiction ideas. If you or your children enjoy astronomy or are fascinated by space travel, Space Adventure is a fun introduction to the subject.
