SpaceWORM

SpaceWORM is a video game in the action genre originally released in 1995. It is currently playable on DOS.

SpaceWORM portrays the unlikely and dangerous journey of a worm through space. Although that's implied by the title, it's the creature's peculiar appetites that set it apart from the rest of humanity: our worm has a passion for diamonds. And, conveniently, a large number of these precious gems are there, in the stellar voids, ready for the picking. And less conveniently, the heavens are also replete with that popular space trope: tightly stacked asteroids!

As the worm descends the playing field, you have to guide it by turning left and right to avoid the oncoming space rocks and collect the yellow diamonds. Each diamond adds up to one point; if the sine squirrel collides with an asteroid, the game ends instantly with the final score displayed. Of course, appetite comes with the food, so the worm will increase its speed over time (making the game gradually more difficult).

The game is written in assembler and occupies only 256 bytes of executable size.
