Spike's Peak

Spike's Peak is a video game in the action genre developed by Xonox and published by Hesware originally released in 1984. It is currently playable on Commodore 64, VIC-20.

Spike's Peak is an action game in which you have to climb to the top of a mountain. The game takes place on five different screens. The first screen shows you approaching the mountain; you start here every time you start a game or lose a life. All you have to do is climb up the path to start the stage you have reached so far. The flags next to the path indicate how many lives you have left. The next screen is a zigzag path through meadows at the base of the mountain. Watch out for deadly bears and eagles. Along the path are several caves where you can hide when a bear or eagle appears (you can also jump over the bears). However, the caves are cold and you have a limited time to hide before you freeze to death. If you make it to the top of the path, you will start the next screen. Here you have to climb a rocky ledge. Rocks and chunks of rock constantly appear that can knock you backwards across the screen. Next is the icy top of the mountain. Climb to the top without getting knocked down by avalanches or getting caught by the abominable snowman. The last screen takes place at the top of the mountain, where you have to climb to the top and plant a flag before you freeze. Complete all these screens and you will win the game. There are four different difficulty levels.
