Description Star Trap

It is the year 2189, mankind has visited numerous galaxies thanks to hyperspace engines. In search of adventure and the exoticism of distant lands, you have signed a 5-year contract with the Intergalactic Company to work on the Space Lines. For your first trip you were appointed as a trainee technician on the freighter AMPELOS. The freighter left Achernar VI bound for Tau Ceti II. A few hours later you were in the piloting room when suddenly all the alarms start... What is it? You only have 8 hours to find out.

You start exploring the AMPELOS freighter. The robots become uncontrollable and attack you. They are probably behind the death of the commander. Fortunately, the computer can help you disable them. But your adventure has only just begun and already the dead commander's cap (peace to his soul) reveals a number, which you quickly remember.

The game flows as an icon-based first-person adventure. You can move in the available directions and perform actions through a set of icons, which are 'Take', 'Put', 'Look', 'Examine', 'Use', and some new ones like 'Listen', 'Reload' (a battery, a weapon). Another icon allows you to start a dialogue, for example, with the navigator or the doctor. You can ask them simple questions from predefined words like 'HOW TO DISABLE ROBOTS' and you will hear the words spoken. On the right side of the screen you will see the items you own and useful information: health, fatigue, your ammo, your air reserve (if you are wearing a combo suit). When you reach a place, you must use the icon to look at the place (the eye), sometimes several times to discover the objects. Then (and before taking the object) you must use the magnifying glass on the object, because you can't use it on the object already in the inventory.

The Amstrad CPC version of the game is a port of the Atari ST version and uses only 4 colors.
