Star Trek: Generations - Beyond the Nexus

Star Trek: Generations - Beyond the Nexus is a video game in the action genre developed by Absolute Entertainment, Inc. and published by Absolute Entertainment, Inc. originally released in 1994. It is currently playable on Game Gear.

Beyond the Nexus is based on the seventh Star Trek movie and its story: Captains Kirk and Picard must team up to stop a mad scientist from destroying an inhabited planet in order to re-enter the mysterious Nexus energy belt.

The game has several different game modes. The first is starship combat: viewed from the main screen of the Enterprise (in both the -B and -D versions) you navigate the ship through space, firing phasers or photon torpedoes at enemies such as the Tholians, Klingons and Romulans. In another mode, the ship reaches its destination by flying through rectangles in space.

In the far missions, the view changes to a top-down perspective where you control a single character and can fire your phaser at enemies.

Finally, the game has two puzzle modes. In the first, you have to decipher the frequencies: this is done by putting the symbols in the correct order. At first you can only guess the order, but after one try the game reveals how many of the selected symbols are part of the combination and how many are in the right place. Using logic, the correct order can be determined, but there are only a limited number of attempts.

The second puzzle mode is used to redirect energy from one system to another. To do this, a path must be constructed on a grid for the energy to flow. The path must be constructed with randomly assigned pieces that do not always fit together, similar to the concept of Pipe Mania.

It is possible that we have multiple downloads available when different versions exist.
