Starbase 13 is a video game in the adventure genre developed by DTO Software and published by DTO Software originally released in 1993. It is currently playable on Amiga.
Starbase 13 is a point-and-click science fiction adventure game for the Amiga, created in AMOS. Using a LucasArts-style action bar, seven actions are performed. The seven actions are 'Walk', 'Examine', 'Manipulate', 'Use', 'Take', 'Talk' and 'Shoot'. 'Use' is for '(. . . . ) in (. . . ) Use' and 'Operate' are different because 'Use' always deals with two objects, like 'Use with', while 'Operate' always deals with one object. There are five save slots, which can be saved by pressing F6-F10 and loaded by pressing F1-F5. Starbase 13 is a bit inconsistent, and you may have to manually guide your character away from obstacles by clicking on some points along the way.
The protagonist of the game is Jeno Hou, a crew member of the spaceship 8. 3. At the beginning of the game, the captain calls him and assigns him the task of investigating a space station that is sending out distress signals.
Unlike adventure games, in Starbase 13 you can die, and in some parts you need reflexes to succeed.
Starbase 13' was released in 1995 with a sequel called 'Epsilon 9: Revenge of the Stingons'.
