Stellar Shuttle

Stellar Shuttle is a video game in the action genre and published by Brøderbund Software, Inc. originally released in 1982. It is currently playable on Atari 8-bit.

Stellar Shuttle is a variant of lunar rescue. The planet Ttam has fallen into a dangerous asteroid belt, forcing the evacuation of all inhabitants to a mothership orbiting outside the belt. The player has the shuttle ships to work with, to fly through the asteroids and pick up refugees one at a time from the surface. To help avoid the asteroids, the shuttle can be slowed down by using the shuttle's retro rockets. The retro rockets can also be used against the dragons that start appearing on level two.

Once the player has picked up a refugee, he will have to return to the mothership. Here he will have access to a blaster that can be used to blast his way through the asteroids, though there are also falling comets that require maneuvering and speed to avoid and derelict drifting spaceships to shoot at.

In each level there are six refugees to be rescued one at a time. Once this is done, the player moves on to the next level.

Scoring is as follows:Each landing: 200 pointsEach refugee safely returned to the mother ship: 300 pointsLarge steroids: 20 pointsSmall steroids: 50 pointsDropped spaceships: 300 pointsDragons: 200 pointsEvery six refugees rescued: 1.
