Taskforce

Taskforce is a video game in the action genre and published by Players Premier originally released in 1989. It is currently playable on Amstrad CPC.

It has the same name and storyline as the Commodore version, but the Amstrad CPC version and the ZX Spectrum version are different enough to be separate entries. The plot is that Snide Gaintly and his mercenaries have taken over a top-secret Air Force base in the South Pacific with cruise missiles, and you have less than four hours to take control of the missiles. You are sent to the vicinity of the base in a state-of-the-art fighter, head to the entrance, enter the cave and explore in this side-screen shooter.

You have to find the missile activation icon, and once you have found them all, you have to play a sub-game where you have to move the colored discs to different areas without placing the larger disc on top of the smaller one. There are several enemies in the base that you have to shoot or avoid, and if you touch them you lose a life (three on Amstrad, four on Spectrum). You have several weapons at your disposal, but apart from the standard gun that shoots forward, your other weapons are limited. You have to destroy a camouflaged explosive wall to advance, and at the bottom of the base you have to destroy another wall.
