Taskmaster

Taskmaster is a video game in the action genre developed by Thorn EMI Computer Software and published by Creative Sparks originally released in 1985. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

A prince has set his eyes on Princess Kelly, but her father, King Otto, is convinced that he is not worthy enough to marry her. To prove him wrong, King Otto imposes on the prince a series of seven tasks he must accomplish if he is to win her hand in marriage:

1. The prince must survive one night outside the castle. When the sun sets behind the hills, hordes of mortified-looking zombies appear on both sides of the screen, and in order not to be eaten, the prince must shoot them with his arrows until the sun rises.

2. The prince has been placed somewhere in the Dabbit Forest, where an evil wizard materializes, shoots him, and then dematerializes. With little time to spare, he must shoot the wizard the moment he appears.

3. You must retrieve four sacred stones from Vampire Mountain. Bats will emerge from a cave and fly around the prince in an attempt to prevent him from completing his task.

4. The Devil Worshippers from the Demon Temple have been sent to Stonehenge to finish off the prince. These worshippers have the ability to shoot in all directions. The prince can claim victory if he kills a certain number of monks.

5. The ancient spirit stone of the Runes of Tygorth is releasing dangerous spirits, and needs to be destroyed. The stone will hold a few hits from the prince, allowing time for the spirits to shoot the prince if he gets too close to it.

6. Ritual stones have been placed in the village of the northern barbarians, and the prince is tasked with retrieving five correct ones. Meanwhile, ruthless barbarians come out of the hut and try to stop the prince from stealing them.

7. The prince is very close to marrying his love. All he has to do is get to the wedding ceremony, which is held in the Castle of the Birdmen, so called because aggressive birds will appear and swoop down and shoot at the prince before he has a chance to enter.

If the prince successfully completes all these tasks, King Otto will let his daughter be his wife. If he fails, King Otto will not accept the marriage until all the tasks are completed.
