Tecno Ninja, released in 1990, is an iconic Atari 8-bit game that is still enjoyed by many video game fans today. Developed and published by Hot-B, the side-scrolling platformer features a lone protagonist, Ninja Joe, who embarks on a mission to save Princess Pink.

Players take control of Ninja Joe, a highly skilled martial artist, as he traverses back and forth across a six-stage adventure. Along the way, he must battle an array of fearsome enemies in order to protect the princess and rid the world of the evil forces. These enemies include the likes of ninjas, goblins, mutants and various other devious foes. In order to vanquish each of these adversaries, the player must utilize Ninja Joe's ninja-star wielding and jumping abilities.

Throughout the game, Ninja Joe will traverse various platforms while using his ninja stars as his primary form of attacking. To assist him, he can acquire several power-ups, such as the fireball and boomerang. Players must collect a designated number of points in order to move onto the next stage, and there are also bonus items scattered throughout the levels.

The game's graphics are charmingly simple and reasonably colorful. Although the animation can be a bit choppy, the music is catchy and captivating. It uses a mixture of Eastern and Western-style melodies that contribute to an engaging experience.

Tecno Ninja remains a firm fan favorite today due to its simplistic, yet enjoyable, nature. The simplistic controls and easy-to-understand mechanics make the game an easy pick-up-and-play, while its array of challenging stages make it a rewarding and enjoyable game.
