Description TerraFire

TerraFire is a fun arcade shooter with excellent ray-traced graphics and smooth 360-degree parallax scrolling.

As the game description says, you will pilot a ship '...through heavily defended subway caverns, past wind tunnels, fire walls and subterranean lakes. Retrieve the stolen nuclear capsules using your ship's tractor beam and bring them back to the planet's surface and beyond into hyperspace.' The game is quite fun, although the controls are difficult to master. The demo version allows you to play 8 of the 27 missions in the registered version. The 360-degree scrolling is very smooth, though the action isn't as frenetic (or fun) as that of Zone 66, Epic's underrated shooter. TerraFire is a lot of fun, but may not be worth the hefty $19.95 price tag of the registered version. Play the demo first to see if you like it enough to pay full price. The game is a well-deserved winner in the 'action/adventure' category of ZDNet's seventh annual Shareware Awards. thumbs up!
