Terrorpods

Terrorpods is a video game in the action genre developed by Psygnosis Limited and published by Psygnosis Limited originally released in 1988. It is currently playable on Commodore 64, Amiga.

Just because a region is bleak, desolate and inhospitable does not mean it is worthless. The planet Colian is a case in point; it has abundant reserves of the hardy metal Aluma, the explosive Detonite and the energy-giving Quaza crystals. The units that mine them are under the control of the Empire, and are forced to produce destructive Terrorpod units.

The rival Federation tries to put an end to this operation and sends you to the surface in a Defense Strategy Vehicle. Your task is to find each of the six bases before the Empire can destroy evidence of them. Destroy all the Terrorpods to reach the bases.

The action is viewed from your DSV, as you move and shoot any Terrorpods that invade you. Colian has a strong inertial field, so you are always moving. You have guided missiles at your disposal, although these consume some of your limited Detonite reserves. The missiles will also target you; avoid them.

While all this action is going on, you are trying to ensure that enough components are produced in the mines, and can be recovered to go to the Federation's own construction efforts. Collect the resulting products to attach to your DSV.
