Tetris S is a video game in the action genre developed by UNiT Inc. and published by Bullet-Proof Software, Inc. originally released in 1996. It is currently playable on SEGA Saturn.
The iconic puzzle game Tetris has been around since 1984, and over the years it has seen many incarnationsacross different platforms. One of the most interesting versions was released on the Sega Saturn console in 1996, the aptly named Tetris S.
This version of Tetris stands out due in part to its terrific soundtrack and its numerous customization options. Tetris S offers multiple game modes, each with various difficulty settings and customization features. For example, the game includes two distinct modes, the original Tetris Mode and the Tower Mode.
Tetris Mode is the classic formula of the game, where players attempt to get a certain number of lines completed before their well is filled with blocks. In Tetris S, this mode is expanded with multiple difficulty levels, including the option to add ‘T-Spin’ blocks to add challenge.
In Tower Mode, the player must reach the top of the tower by moving up floor by floor. As they climb, they must complete lines to make room for the faster blocks that will befall them. It also introduces an element of risk, since any mistakes can send them back to the bottom of the tower.
The other major benefit of this version of Tetris is the wealth of graphical options available. From a detailed selection of backgrounds to a variety of block designs, Every aspect of the game's visuals can be modified to suit the player's likes.
Tetris Sis an excellent entry in the classic puzzler. Fans of the original who want to see something novel, as well as newcomers to the series looking for a fine introduction, need look no further than this classic Sega Saturn title.
