The Basket Manager

The Basket Manager is a video game in the sports genre developed by Simulmondo and published by Simulmondo originally released in 1991. It is currently playable on DOS, Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64.

In the game, as the manager of a basketball team, you start your career with a budget of $9,000,000. The game includes the economic management of the team and the basketball game itself on the field.

In the management phase the player has to buy a team of 8 players, and assign 5 of them for a game. The price of the players varies according to their skill and experience. The experience is described by two parameters: Rookie and Veteran, and the skills are described by four parameters: SP (Running speed), SK (Skill in preparation for shooting), ST (Stamina), SH (Shooting ability). Starting with rookies, the player will eventually progress to form a solid team of veterans.

In the simulation phase you have to win the matches with the assigned players on the field against another team. The player controls one of the team's players, the one with the ball, or the one near the ball, moving it in eight directions, trying to get the ball, or throwing it.

The game is available for 1-2 players.
