The Blues Brothers: Jukebox Adventure is a video game in the action genre and published by Titus France SA originally released in 1993. It is currently playable on DOS.
A sequel to Image Work's 1991 Blues Brothers game, Blues Brothers: Jukebox Adventure features improved graphics, larger levels and - naturally - more records than ever to collect.
The game stars the Blues Brothers, a popular musical duo consisting of Jake and Elwood. The game is based on a hit movie of the same name, which in turn was inspired by the real Blues Brothers band (although the band members bore little resemblance to their movie counterparts).
The gameplay is typical side-scrolling platformer, except that the monsters, power-ups and items have been modified to fit the Blues Brothers theme. Instead of shooting fireballs or lasers, Elwood or Jake shoot discs (LPs) that go through monsters. These discs are exhaustible, so you must be on the lookout to collect more of them whenever you can. You can control either Elwood or Jake, though they're not much different (Elwood, being a bit stockier than Jake, seems to move a bit slower).
With vibrant graphics, varied and inventive levels, and, of course, a Blues Brothers soundtrack, Jukebox Adventures is a must-play for all fans of the duo, and a good introductory game for newcomers. Arcade veterans should look elsewhere, because they will probably find the levels too short and the gameplay too easy.
