The Enigma of Ashrella is a video game in the role-playing (rpg) genre originally released in 1995. It is currently playable on DOS.

The Enigma of Ashrella is a text-based role-playing game by BBS Door. In the world of Daagrung lies the continent of Ashrella. Named after the Goddess of Harvest, Ashrella is a peaceful and prosperous land, or at least it was until the creatures arrived. No one knows where they come from, but they destroy crops, kill, steal and disappear. The player's task is to wipe out this plague.

Upon entering the game, the player is given a summary of the story, enters their game name and is given another snippet of the story and some instructions before choosing their class and setting their player stats. Ashrella is/was an online world that had no non-player characters, at least that was the case in the 2.0 beta, so players had to interact with each other to progress and explore the world. Gold is important here, it could be earned by killing creatures, gambling or selling items like gems or flowers. Alliances could be made and enemies could be destroyed by sending them diseases, curses or assassins.

The game is made up of several chapters and it was estimated that it took a week to complete a sub-chapter and defeat its boss, and a month to complete an entire chapter.
