The Final Matrix

The Final Matrix is a video game in the action genre developed by Gremlin Graphics Software Limited and published by Gremlin Graphics Software Limited originally released in 1987. It is currently playable on Amstrad CPC.

An impossible mission has fallen into the most unlikely hands. Poor Nimrod is sent to rescue some of his fellow Biopton from the hands of the brutal Cratons, who have imprisoned them on a chain of prison planets known collectively as 'The Matrix'.

Nimrod must travel throughout the galaxy, infiltrate every planet where Matrix activity is detected and rescue his friends. To do this, he can use the objects left at his disposal, such as TV cameras, which provide valuable information about each complex, ammunition boxes, which contain the weapons needed to defeat the disruptors and guards, and building blocks, which can be used for protection or to activate weight sensors.

At the same time, you should avoid, if possible, armed guards, disruptors, which will block your way, mines and black ice. Once Nimrod locates a hostage, he has to take him to the landing zone and extract him to his spaceship to complete the rescue.

'The Final Matrix' is an isometric arcade with adventure elements, such as puzzles and traps. A novel feature is that you can enter each matrix at any time, without following a particular order, which may appeal to casual players.
