The Ninja

The Ninja is a video game in the action genre developed by SEGA Enterprises Ltd. and published by SEGA Enterprises Ltd. originally released in 1986. It is currently playable on SEGA Master System.

At the beginning of Japan's Edo era, around 1630, peace had continued in the western province of Ohkami until the feudal lord passed away. Gyokuro, an evil emperor, seized power and his oppressive rule caused great hardship to the people, and the princess who opposed him was confined in a dungeon somewhere in Ohkami castle. Gyokuro has the Ohkami ninjas under his command. Using various ninjitsu techniques, in addition to the one that transforms them into a wolf, they protect him from those who are his enemies.

The player plays Kazamuru, a great warrior who challenges the clan to a fight to rescue the princess. However, he cannot rescue the princess unless he finds the five scrolls in the thirteen areas of Ohkami. In your quest, you must defeat various ninjas such as Kuno-ichi and Ninniku, as well as fire-blowing ninjas, slashing ninjas, and foot ninjas. You'll explore grassy fields, shrines, riverbanks, towns and the castle itself. Some of the passages have varied gameplay. For example, you must avoid rocks in Step 2, you must use logs to cross a river in Step 5, avoid getting trampled by horses in Step 7, and climb a cliff in Step 9.
