Description The Sims Pool

The Sims Pool brings the social world of The Sims to the pool table in a compact mobile format. Players enter a series of billiards matches as a customizable Sim, competing against familiar neighborhood personalities and other opponents in colorful pool halls. The game combines traditional cue sports with the character-driven presentation of the series, giving each match the atmosphere of a casual Sim gathering rather than a purely formal tournament.

Matches are played from an overhead, angled view of the table. Before each shot, the player adjusts the cue’s direction and selects the strength of the break or stroke with the phone’s controls. Careful positioning is essential, since the cue ball can be directed into useful angles for follow-up shots or left in an awkward position for the opponent. Bank shots, combinations, safety play, and controlled use of the table’s cushions all provide alternatives to simply aiming at the nearest ball. The compact interface is designed for quick adjustments, while a preview guide helps judge the intended path of the cue ball and target ball.

Several standard pool formats provide the structure for play, with games based around clearing assigned groups of balls before sinking the eight ball. Opponents vary in ability, giving early matches a relaxed pace before more demanding challenges require accurate power control and deliberate positioning. Victories allow the player to advance through a succession of matches and face stronger competition. The risk of scratching the cue ball or sinking an illegal ball keeps even straightforward shots tense, particularly when the table is crowded and a missed attempt can leave an easy run for the opposing Sim.

The venues use bright, stylized graphics suited to the limitations of Java mobile handsets. Tables, balls, cues, and characters are clearly separated by strong colors, while decorative backgrounds suggest neighborhood recreation rooms, lively clubs, and other social locations. Sim characters display recognizable expressions and animations around the table, reacting to successful shots and missed opportunities. Menus and status displays remain simple and readable, allowing the player to concentrate on aiming without losing track of the current score, turn, or objective.

Music and sound effects give the matches a relaxed arcade character. Cue strikes, ball collisions, pocketed shots, and cushion contacts are represented by short effects, with changes in rhythm and brief character reactions adding energy between turns. The result is a portable pool game that emphasizes accessible controls, recognizable Sims personality, and short competitive sessions. Each match can be completed in a few minutes, making The Sims Pool suitable for quick play while still rewarding players who learn to control spin, strength, and cue-ball placement.
