Description The Train: Escape to Normandy

In the months leading up to the liberation of France by the Allies in World War II, Germany attempts to seize the collection of classical paintings in Paris. As a member of the Resistance, Pierre LeFeu, aided by the wounded former machinist Le Duc, must prevent this, but by taking the paintings by train to Normandy and Allied control.

Once you have control of the train, you must adjust the throttle level, make sure there is enough coal in the boiler, control the speed, and make sure steam is released when necessary. Use the map provided, and the communications network once released, to plan the strategic part of your mission. Each station has supplies of coal and water that may be needed to keep the train running.

You must raid the railroad stations to place the switches on the tracks in the correct position. Both this and the initial capture of the train involve targeting the enemy, current point indicated, and ducking before their bullets can reach you. Taking control of the bridges is similar: you control a cannon and must aim.
