Description Thud Ridge: American Aces in 'Nam

The game's plot is set in Vietnam War times, where you are an American pilot of the Republic F-105 Thunderchief affectionately known as the 'Thud', a conventional attack and 'defense suppression' aircraft. North Vietnam was divided by the US military into a set of target zones called, for some reason, 'Route Packages (RP)'. The most heavily defended zone was 'RP-6A', in and around Hanoi. To enter this target zone, F-105s had to fly over a region of mountainous terrain that was known as 'Thud Ridge'.

You are starting your career in 'Wild Weasels' as a Lieutenant, the description of your first mission is to get the feel of your 'Thud', but it is just a start of dangerous and glorious ladder. Subsequent missions vary from taking out Doumer tankers or bombing the bridge to dropping leaflets or engaging MiGs. Your rank may increase if the mission is accomplished.

At the beginning of each mission you must read the mission description, accept or reject it and equip your aircraft with weapons and supplies. Upon takeoff from the airbase, whether in Korat or elsewhere, you must fly to your destination by eliminating the opponent's MiGs, run the 'Ridge', and complete your mission. The game is played in third person with the usual flight simulator skills.
