Timekeepers

Timekeepers is a video game in the strategy genre developed by Vulcan Software Limited and published by Vulcan Software Limited originally released in 1995. It is currently playable on Amiga.

Timekeepers: An elite police force trying to protect the 4th dimension from terrorist attacks. 14 platoons are sent to 4 different time periods (Belgium from 2 million BC, medieval Europe from 1245, Vietnam from 1966 and space from 2001). Their mission: disarm nuclear bombs planted by a psychotic warlord.

Timekeepers is a hybrid strategy/puzzle game. It plays like a cross between Lemmings and an RTS like Dune 2. The main game screen has a row of icons at the bottom, portraits of the Timekeepers on either side, and in the center a fold-out map of the level. The platoon is autonomous, the player cannot control it directly but has to place icons on the map to order the troops. A soldier will try to perform an action by passing over an icon. The available icons are

Direction arrows - guide the soldier;

Clock - stops the soldier for a while;

Footprint - makes the soldier jump over something;

Wrench - forces the soldier to operate some lever or switch;

Open mouth - commands the soldier to attack;

ZZZ - pauses the game;

Brain - to choose previous levels;

Disk - disk options, such as saving and loading.

There is no time limit or limit to the number of icons that can be placed. Levels have traps, enemies and dangerous environments that can kill your Timekeepers. There are 60 levels in 4 different time settings, each with its own set of graphics. The main objective of each level is to reach the exit and teleport all your troops to the next map.
