TipTop is a Microsoft Windows game created by Argonaut Software and released in 2002. It is a platform solution-based game with a three-dimensional aesthetic that sees players take control of a character sporting a domino-like hat and matching suit. The primary objective of the game is to explore the land of TipTop, solving puzzles and navigating levels in order to accumulate the six power pieces of TipTop.

The TipTop landscape is impressively immersive. Sprawling levels are interspersed with puzzles, spiked pits, spirals, and other obstacles across platforms that stretch into the skies. The experience is enriched by splashes of vibrant colors, while audio effects bring an authentic soundscape of zipping, flying, and jumping.

The TipTop Gameplay reveals itself to be a constantly evolving title that tests the player’s problem-solving and platform-jumping skills. There are no ranges of weapons at their disposal, you use the environment to progress. This includes defeating enemies by outsmarting them with trapdoors and rollers. In addition, enemies can be frozen, allowing them to be used to solve puzzles or to make progress in the game.

In terms of control, TipTop is responsive and provides a pleasing experience. Players navigate using a keyboard and mouse or gamepad. You collect coins as you progress which are stored in a Digicopter, which also assists in combat with a range of weapons. Aim of the game is to collect the necessary crystals to gain entrance to the palace of TipTop.

TipTop proves to be an immersive experience. With its range of depth, atmosphere and puzzles, the game provides a unique challenge to players of all skill levels. Although the game is of a dated vintage, its endearing experience is still able to captivate over a decade after its release.
