TITANman

TITANman is a video game in the action genre originally released in 1990. It is currently playable on DOS.

Titanman was one of the most influential DOS games released in 1990. Developed by Apogee Software and published by Electronic Arts, it offered players an interesting and highly challenging platforming experience.

The gameplay found in Titanman was simple yet highly absorbing. Players took control of a mechanical warrior, the titular Titanman, who had to traverse through a variety of levels filled with enemies and traps. The controls were responsive and easy to learn, and to defeat enemies the main character had to use a variety of weapons such as bombs, guns and cannons. Moreover, each weapon was upgradable, provided the player was able to find enough credits to purchase upgrades.

In addition to the regular platforming stages, Titanman featured numerous boss battles and special stages that further increased the challenge. These were some of the most memorable and challenging parts of the game, as the bosses were exceptionally powerful and varied in difficulty.

The game featured a very impressive audiovisual presentation. The pixel art was enhanced by vibrant colors and associated sound effects, creating a very immersive experience. This was further bolstered by the game's soundtrack; which was composed by the renowned game composer Bobby Prince. The levels also featured some very clever design choices, such as including hidden paths and bonus stages, which provided welcome breaks from the challenge of the main levels.

Titanman is widely regarded as one of the best DOS games of all time, and still holds a special place in the hearts of many. It provided an addictive and challenging experience and was one of the earliest examples of platformers in the DOS era.
