Description Tommy's Calabresella

Tommy's Calabresella is a shareware, single player card game, in real life it is a three player game but in this implementation the player takes one seat, the north and the computer pays for the other two. The game is also known as Terziglio, is of Italian origin and is said to have been popular with the priesthood.

The detailed rules of the game are contained in the game and are freely available on the Internet. In brief, it is played with a standard deck of fifty-two cards from which all eights, nines and tens have been removed. Players bid to be the soloist and then play the hand, there are no trumps in this game. The soloist must make at least eighteen points, if he does so he scores a point and additional points for any points he scores above the eighteen mark. If he fails to do so, the two opponents score the deficit.
The game ends when one of the players exceeds a predefined total, which in this implementation can be any number between fifty-nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine points, or pips as they are called in this game.

The game is controlled entirely with the keyboard. It has basic sound effects and command line switches to start the game with the sound off and to force a color or monochrome display. In addition, it has the following options: a demo mode in which the game is played alone, an open hand option in which all of the player's cards are visible, a replay hand option, and a game help.
